K-Tool, Inc., based in south-central Pennsylvania, designs and manufactures an exclusive product line of standard and special design indexable carbide tooling for the metalworking industry.

Since the company’s founding in 1979, K-Tool has introduced several innovative designs and niche products widely recognized throughout the industry. K-Tool also has distinguished itself by designing and producing special tooling in less time than competitors.

Starting out as a special tool manufacturer and job shop, K-Tool for a time branched out as a cutting tool distributor before focusing on its current specialization: tool design and manufacture and partnering with distributors such as Hemly Tool.

Hemly Tool carries a varied selection of K-Tool milling inserts, which are available for working with a wide range of metals – mild and low carbon steel, high carbon and alloy steels, lower carbon alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, iron, nickel and titanium alloys, and non-ferrous metals.

K-Tool offers thicker Inserts that feature stronger edges for optimal cutting performance.

You’ll also find special K-Tool products at Hemly Tool such as the K-Tool Octa-Mill, which features a 45-degree lead angle and eight ground edges per insert. These ground inserts are designed to run true, and they index closer for a variety of cutting functions, including plunge, ramp, face mill, slot and chamfer.

Besides its standard tool line, K-Tool offers modified standard tools. K-tool alters standard tool designs to meet special customer requirements, ready for shipment in two to three working days. Common modifications available include reduced shank diameters, added coolant-through designs, and modified diameters of flat-bottom drills and drill mills.

K-Tool also specializes in meeting customers’ special tooling needs, and is capable of building custom tools, often in less than seven working days after approval of a tool drawing and receipt of a purchase order.
